Welcome to Year One and Year Two Robins Class
This half term we will centre our learning around the theme of “Let’s Explore!”
We will launch our learning in English through the traditional tale of ‘The Three Billy Goats Gruff.’ We will complete this learning by writing our own narrative. This story will lead into our wider curriculum focus of History answering the question, 'How have explorers changed our world? The children will be learning about world famous explorers as well as a Cornish explorer- Richard Lander. Design and Technology will link to this topic as the children design a vehicle for an explorer.
In Maths, Year One pupils will be completing Place Value within 50, then moving on to Measurement, covering: length, height, mass and volume.
Year Two pupils will be moving on to learn about Multiplication and Division.
In P.E the children will be focusing on ball skills in team games.

Homework books will be sent home every Wednesday and we collect them back in at school on Monday mornings. Spellings for Year 2 children can be found in homework books.
Please make sure you listen to your child read daily at home.
Tapestry will be used to share practical learning, special events and homework. Please make sure you check the app regularly.
PE days are Wednesday and Thursday for Robins
Please make sure your PE kit is always named and kept in school. We will send kits home at the end of every half term to be washed.
