Welcome to Year One and Year Two Robins Class
This half term we will centre our learning around the theme of “Amazing Animals.”
We will launch our learning in English through the traditional tale of ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears.’ We will complete this learning by writing our own version of this story. This story will lead into our wider curriculum focus of Science answering the question, 'Where do different animals live?’ The children will be learning about different animal habitats and how animals have adapted to that habitat. Art will look at dot paintings created by the Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama.
In Maths, Year One pupils will be learning about Position and Direction, Place Value and Money.
Year Two pupils will be moving on to learn about Mass, Capacity and Temperature, Time and Statistics.
In P.E the children will be focusing on athletics as they prepare for Sports Day.

Homework books will be sent home every Wednesday and we collect them back in at school on Monday mornings. Spellings for Year 2 children can be found in homework books.
Please make sure you listen to your child read daily at home.
Tapestry will be used to share practical learning, special events and homework. Please make sure you check the app regularly.
PE days are Wednesday and Thursday for Robins
Please make sure your PE kit is always named and kept in school. We will send kits home at the end of every half term to be washed.
