Welcome to Kingfishers  - Reception

 This half term will be full of excitement as the children will be learning about a range of celebrations.

This half term our learning theme is  “Past and Present”.

The children will learn about how they have changed and what their parents looked like when they were young. They will be looking at toys, jobs and technology in the past, while answering the question:

How has technology changed our lives?

The children will continue to focus on developing their fine motor control through a range of exciting activities.

In Literacy the children will be learning the story ‘The Gingerbread Man’, retelling the story as a class.

In RE we will focus on Christianity as we explore the following question: “Why do Christians perform Nativity plays at Christmas? "

In PE the children will develop their gymnastics skills; focussing on balance, position and control.

In Maths the reception children will be learning to recognise, subitise and count with numbers to 5.

Throughout all lessons we will think about core values and our My Personal Best values- imagination and reflection.

We will use Tapestry to share your child's learning with you and to share important class messages. Please make sure you check the app regularly. Click here for Tapestry website  

Please make sure book bags are brought into school daily. Kingfishers have PE on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, please ensure that your child has a PE kit with trainers in school each day. Please send a coat to school for your child each day.
