Welcome to Kingfishers - Reception
This half term the children will spend time learning about the world around them.
This half term our learning theme is “What a wonderful world!”
The children will learn about where they live and their local area. They will follow a route around the school and explore drawing maps. The children will explore the local area on a locality walk, learning about nearby landmarks.
The children will continue to focus on developing their fine motor control through a range activities, including pen disco. They will be learning the story ‘Lost and Found’ by Oliver Jeffers, retelling the story as a class.
In PE the children will develop their dance skills; focussing on rhythm, timing and movement.
In maths the children will be learning about numbers to 10 and exploring mass and capacity.
Throughout all lessons we will think about core values and our My Personal Best values- gratitude and empathy.
We will use Tapestry to share your child's learning with you and to share important class messages. Please make sure you check the app regularly. Click here for Tapestry website
Please make sure book bags are brought into school daily. Kingfishers have PE on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, please ensure that your child has a PE kit with trainers in school each day. Please send a coat to school for your child each day.
Thank you
Mrs Grant and Mrs Thomas
