Welcome to Year One and Year Two Owls Class

This half term we will centre our learning around the theme of ‘Trees and Seasons,’  with the focus of learning being in Science.  We will be investigation our main enquiry question;

“How do plants grow?”

This half term, in English the children will be learning about the foundations of grammar using ‘Grammarsaurus’ to learn key writing skills.  We will also be reading the traditional tale of ‘The Little Red Hen’.

In Maths we will be looking at place value up to 20 and 100, understanding the number line, representing numbers and partitioning numbers into tens and ones.

Homework books will be sent home every Wednesday and we collect them back in at school on Monday mornings. Spellings for Year 2 children can be found in homework books.

Please make sure you listen to your child read daily at home.

Tapestry will be used to share practical learning, special events and homework. Please make sure you check the app regularly.

PE days are Tuesday and Friday for Owls . Please make sure your PE kit is always named and kept in school. We will send kits home at the end of every half term to be washed.
