Welcome to Biscovey Nursery, St Blazey, Cornwall


Located in the small town of St Blazey, just outside St Austell, our nursery is a convenient hub for families in the surrounding area, including the communities of Tywardreath Highway, Bodelva, Prideaux and Ponts Mill. We provide expert school-based childcare in a caring and stimulating environment. Specifically designed for children aged 2 to 4 years, our nursery helps bridge the gap between pre-school and Reception Class, providing the very best of starts to your child’s learning journey.

At Biscovey Nursery and Infants, our nursery provision is fully inclusive and an integral part of the whole school. We have access to the sensory and soft play rooms to support the individual needs of our children. The school hall is used for our Healthy Movers P.E. sessions, which are led by the school’s sports coach, as well as for lunch and snack times.
During the summer term, children begin the Nursery Read, Write, Inc. programme to support a smooth transition into school. Our setting is Prem-Aware, with staff having completed the relevant training to achieve this award. We are also a TIS (Trauma Informed Schools) school, and all staff are trained to support children using the TIS approach.

Flexible Nursery Sessions

 To suit your family's needs, we offer various session types at Biscovey Nursery:

  • Morning sessions 5 days a week: 8.45am-11.45am
  • Afternoon sessions: 5 days a week: 12.15pm-3.15pm
  • All-day session: 5 full days: 8:45 am - 2:45 pm with an option to extend the day until 3:15 pm at an additional charge

We welcome new children at any point in the school academic year.
