This half term we will centre our learning around the theme of ‘Big Lights, Big City’  with the focus of learning being in History.  We will be investigation our main enquiry question;

“Why do we call it the Great Fire of London?

This half term, in English the children will be completing their learning about the foundations of grammar using ‘Grammarsaurus’ to learn key writing skills.  They will then move on to use the story ‘Little Red’ in English for their main story unit.

In Maths we will be looking at Number, focussing on Addition and Subtraction within 100, including exchanging tens and ones, then moving on to Geometry- Shape.

Music will be our Christmas Cornet Performance on 4th December to all parents.

Homework books will be sent home every Friday and we collect them back in to school on Wednesday morning.

Please make sure you listen to your child read as often as possible- at least 4 times weekly. Books will be changed every 3 days during Read, Write, Inc lessons. Children in the comprehension groups will change their chapter books in class as necessary.

Tapestry will be used when appropriate for us to share practical learning, special events, homework and important class messages. Please make sure you check the app regularly.

PE days are Thursday and Friday.

Please make sure your PE kit is named and kept in school at all times. We will send kits home at the end of every half term to be washed.
