Welcome to Year One and Year Two Robins Class
This half term we will centre our learning around the theme of 'Whatever the Weather.'
We will launch our learning in English through the story ‘Clean Up,’ by Nathan Byron. We will complete this learning by writing our own narrative about recycling and keeping beaches clean. This story will lead into our wider curriculum focus of Geography answering the question, 'How does the weather change?’ The children will be learning about the weather in different parts of the world and climate change. Art will link to this topic as the children learn about Richard Shilling, painting, using texture, colour, pattern and shape.
In Maths, Year One pupils will be learning about Multiplication and Division, then moving on to Fractions, identifying and finding fractions of a shape and a quantity.
Year Two pupils will be moving on to learn about Fractions, identifying and finding fractions of a shape and a quantity.
In P.E the children will be focusing on striking and fielding in team games.
You can find out more about what will be learning on our half term plan below.
Homework books will be sent home every Wednesday and we collect them back in at school on Monday mornings. Spellings for Year 2 children can be found in homework books.
Please make sure you listen to your child read daily at home.
Tapestry will be used to share practical learning, special events and homework. Please make sure you check the app regularly.
PE days are Wednesday and Thursday for Robins
Please make sure your PE kit is always named and kept in school. We will send kits home at the end of every half term to be washed.
Thank you for your continued support,
Miss Debes, Mrs Best and Miss Chellew
