Through Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) education, pupils develop the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to manage their lives, now and in the future. It helps children and young people to stay healthy and safe both in and outside of school. PSHE in our school is made up of three core themes: Health and Wellbeing, Relationships and Living in the Wider World. We aim to complement what is taught at home by parents and carers, establishing the key building blocks of healthy, respectful relationships, focusing on family and friendships.
To ensure consistency and a progressive curriculum throughout Early Years and Key Stage 1, we follow a framework based on Safety, Caring, Achievement, Resilience and Friendship: SCARF – by Coram Life Education.
The document below shows the teaching and learning principles for PSHE in our school outlined in more detail.
