We can’t believe we are in the second half of the Summer Term already!
This half term is always extremely busy as we continue our learning and prepare the children for transition to Year Two over the coming weeks.
Science will be our subject in focus this half term and we will be learning around our enquiry question: 'How do Animals Survive?'
We will learn about the different classifications of animals and their features. The children will learn key vocabulary including; vertebrates, invertebrates, amphibians, birds, fish, mammals, and reptiles. Linked to the enquiry, children will learn all about how to look after and care for a tortoise. They will learn facts about other creatures and create a report on what their chosen animal needs to survive.
Our Talk for Writing text is How the Tortoise got His Shell.
In maths the children will be looking at position and direction, place value to 100, money and time.
PE will be all about athletics and practising a range of track and field activities, applying the necessary skills that they have learnt throughout the year. In RE we will continue to learn more about Judaism. In PSHE we will learn about our own bodies.
We will continue to take learning outside where possible.
You can see a more in depth plan of this half terms learning below.
