Welcome to Kingfishers - Reception Class 

Our overarching theme this half term is ‘Once upon a time’. We will be learning about lots of different celebrations including the exciting time of Christmas. 

Our key text for this half term is ‘The Three Billy Goats Gruff.’ The children will learn the story, talk about and explore the characters in the story, retell the story and rewrite the story.   

In Math's the children will be exploring, counting and learning the numbers to 5. We will also be looking at comparing these numbers thinking about which is more or less.  

In RE we will focus on Christianity as we explore the question: “What is Christmas?”  

Our focus in PE this half term is gymnastics the children will be practising travelling in different ways such as skipping and jumping. They will also be working on their balancing skills.  

We will continue to use Tapestry to share your child's learning with you and to share important class messages. Please make sure you check the app regularly. Click here for Tapestry website 

Kingfishers will have PE on Tuesday and Thursday each week. Please ensure your child has a named PE kit in school daily.   

Please make sure book bags are brought into school daily.
