Science is a core subject of the National Curriculum and is incorporated into the specific area of learning ’understanding the world’ in the foundation stage. Children come to our school with wide and varied scientific knowledge.
It is our aim to provide opportunities that prepare children for their life through experiences and exploration of the world in which they live. Here at Biscovey Nursery and Infants' Academy we provide these opportunities within our immersive topics where children are taught to ask questions and consider how we might find out the answers. We do this within the classroom and through a variety of outdoor learning experiences.
Children can discover, explain and develop skills of enquiry through working scientifically and build upon their understanding of scientific phenomena guided by the National Curriculum and the Early Learning Goals.
